The Honest Truth About Free Trial Health Products On The Web

February 7th, 2010

I overheard a chat today at work and it kind of bothered me, so I figured I would write about it to share my opinions. The conversation was going on between 2 other ladies and they were discussing the free trial vitamin supplements found on line. One girl, Mary, had just got her free bottle of an acai berry supplement sent to her house and was happy about it and was sharing the news with another girl Stephanie. Stephanie quickly began telling Mary that she had been exploited, and the way in which the overall free trial thing on line is a scam and how nothing in life is free, how her Master card was going to be billed over and over and there is nothing she will be able to do about it. Yada, yada yada. Mary went from highly excited to really sad but she really need not feel that way. I’ll explain why.

I myself get free trial products from the Internet all of the time. I have received samples of acai berry products, resveratrol products, colon cleansing products, acai with pomegranate, you name it, I probably used it or still do. Was I a victim of a scam? Not in the least. So, what’s all this discussion about being scammed and the way the products aren’t actually free, or whether they even work or not?

I will try to answer these questions one at a time. Are the products actually free? Not entirely, but for the most part, yep. You see, you are given a trial bottle of the supplement, whether it be a 14 day trial, thirty day trial, whichever. But, you have to pay for the shipping charges. For the most part it’s less than 10 dollars. That’s where the initial cost comes in. So why do they charge shipping and give the supplement free of charge? Well, a lot of folks will not try something if they are not sure if it will work, but if they do not have a whole lot to lose, they might give it a try. The manufacturers know this, which explains why they give you the 1st bottle free. They ask for a credit card number to pay for the shipping because they are confident about their products and they would like you to stay as a customer, so the fine print is they will charge your creditcard again after 30 days and send you a new bottle. If you do not want to be charged because the supplement didn’t work for you, and it may not work because everybody is unique, everyone is unique, than just call the toll free phone number to cancel it. Plain and simple. And you will not be billed again. I have done this time and again without bother and I pay close attention to my creditcard bills and have seen no monkey business going on.

You see, providing something for no cost up front, asking for a credit card to pay shipping, and rebilling monthly is a winning business structure. It works, that’s why these businesses do it. They know what works and they need to earn money. I doubt that any of them are looking to sting anyone or they would not be in business for any length of time. Most of the trial takers enjoy the product and see results so the company knows they’ll recover the costs of offering something free. And I’m certain they receive a decent margin so it wouldn’t take them too long.

Now, using famous stars to assist with promotion is a bit shady I admit, but that has been going on for a long time. Watch any commercial and see if you are unable to spot a celeb. And do you suspect they use the product being discussed. Doubtful. They likely do it for the paycheck. Those kinds of promos online are being cracked down on so you almost certainly won’t see much of that anymore anyway.

As for the safety of the products, I personally only use superfoods or products that are made naturally. I don’t look for weight control products with chemicals and other fillers. I get products that contribute to well being, not ones that make me more ill. In the case of acai, I will be getting extraordinarily healthy antioxidants to keep the free radicals at bay. For colon cleanse products, I will be getting assistance ridding my body of built up waste and dropping pounds in the process.

That’s it for now. Hope I cleared up any confusion and that you’re feeling safer about any free trial product offers that are offered on the web.

I’m a proud user of free trial health vitamin supplements online. The thing is, I don’t want to shell out funds on something that does nothing for my body type, so I’m pleased I’m offered a cheap test price (the shipping). Although I cannot vouch for all free trial offers on line, here are a couple I have been successful with: Acai Berry Diet Pills, Rezv Elite and Colon Cleanse.
